Changelog
What's new in Go PomoTimer
New features, improvements and fixes, newest first.
Guides and one-click setups
- New guides: study rooms, the 50/10 timer, the lo-fi timer and practical tips for using a timer with ADHD.
- Two Notion guides: how to add the timer to Notion and how to choose a Notion timer.
- One-click buttons on those pages set the timer for you, for example to 50/10 or a 15-minute block, or open it with lo-fi beats ready.
- The rating badge and the reviews section now always show the same number.
- Bigger tap areas for small buttons, and a smaller cookie banner.
A Pomodoro timer for Notion
- New Notion widget: put a free Pomodoro timer in any Notion page with /embed. Pick one of four themes, and the widget fits itself to the space as a full timer, a compact one or a slim bar. No account and no cookies, and it can't read anything in your Notion workspace.
- A full FAQ page with 21 answers, grouped by topic: the Pomodoro Technique, breaks and interruptions, study rooms, lo-fi beats and more.
- Updated the site to the latest versions of Next.js and React for faster, more reliable pages.
- Safer sign-in, plus security fixes behind the scenes.
Study rooms and a new homepage
- Study rooms: focus together on one shared timer. Create a room, then share the link or the room code. Friends join with just a name, no account needed. Everyone sees who is in the room and which task each person is working on.
- The room timer runs on our server, so it stays right even if you lock your phone or lose your connection for a moment. A room closes by itself after 2 hours with nobody in it.
- Lo-fi beats to play while you focus, with their own volume control.
- Full-screen focus mode that shows just the timer and your task list, in your current theme.
- Keyboard shortcuts: Space to start or pause, R to reset, S to skip, F for full screen, 1, 2 and 3 to switch between focus and breaks, M to mute and N to add a task. They also work in study rooms.
- A new homepage built around a bigger round timer, with tasks on a simple notepad next to it.
- Tasks are now one simple list, and each task shows its pomodoros as a count, like 2/5. Subtasks were removed to keep things simple.
- A community bonsai: a juniper tree that grows with every focus session finished on Go PomoTimer.
- Share a card of a finished focus session.
- A cleaner stats dashboard with your streak, small trend charts, a 24-hour focus clock and a PDF report you can download.
- Four themes: Vibrant Energy, Nature Calm, Midnight Focus and Cozy Coffeehouse.
- The timer digits turn red in the last 30 seconds, and breaks use calmer teal and blue colors.
- A new review form with big tap-to-rate stars, and redesigned review cards.
- A weekly focus summary email for signed-in users, with your focus time and streak. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- Tighter privacy on the public leaderboard.
A timer fix
- Fixed a bug in the timer.
Leaderboard fixes
- Fixed leaderboard issues and tidied up the code behind the app.
Tasks with estimates and a new layout
- Added tasks with nested subtasks, making it easier to organize and manage work visually. You can select a task card to make it active and all completed pomodoros will be counted against the selected task.
- A color indicator highlights tasks that exceed their estimated pomodoros. You can edit the task anytime to adjust the estimate. This helps you stay on track and avoid overcommitting.
- Added a persistent scroll timer that remains visible and continues running while scrolling.
- Improved the statistics view to provide more meaningful insights into productivity.
- Enabled task and subtask creation without login. All tasks automatically sync once the user logs in.
- Improved overall performance and reduced website loading times.
- Added a "Buy Me a Coffee" page for users who want to support the project.
- Restructured the layout to deliver a cleaner, more intuitive and user-friendly experience.
Stats, Google sign-in and task priorities
- Introduced a stats dashboard with detailed session analytics and bar charts.
- Added Gmail sign-in for faster and more seamless authentication.
- Added a task management table with task priorities (Low, Medium, High) and sorting and filtering options.
- Ensured tasks persist across sessions so users can continue where they left off.
- Fixed multiple bugs, including task deletion issues, and improved overall UI stability.
- Added a Donate ("Buy Me a Coffee") button to support ongoing development and maintenance.
